The International Society of Oriental Medicine

The International Society of Oriental Medicine was organized by the initiative of Korean representatives attending the 4th International Acupuncture and Moxibustion Conference in 1975 in Las Vegas.

The society is a professional organization to promote the whole range of oriental medicine including acupuncture, moxibustion and herbal medicine.

Now board of directors from three countries of Executive Committee, Korea, Japan, Taiwan play important role in formulating policies or making decisions as well as carrying them out and closely cooperate each other.

Lots of oriental medicine practitioners and scholars from many countries are currently members of ISOM. ISOM seeks to promote cooperation in the field of oriental medicine. Main activities of ISOM is to conduct research and development, to promote international exchanges of oriental medicine and hold academic conferences.
